A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to non-existent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a spelling error. The drawback of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

In case you have a shared plan with our company and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a given e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it’ll take literally only one click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you have active email forwarding, our system will display a warning note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
